Dealer agreements concluded with three Hitachi Group member companies for sale of Apresia Ethernet switch series
Hitachi Cable, Ltd. has announced the conclusion of dealer agreements with Hitachi Information Systems, Ltd. (headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Iwao Hara), Hitachi Information & Communication Engineering, Ltd. (headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; President: Katsuro Wakai), and Hitachi Electronics Services Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Tsugio Momose) for sale of Apresia Ethernet switch series*1.
Hitachi Cable's Apresia series of Ethernet switches, can be categorized into two main groups: the Apresia 6000/8000/18000 series targeted at telecommunications carriers and the Apresia 2000/3000/4000/13000 series targeted at the business and public-sector markets. The Apresia 6000/8000/18000 series is employed by a large number of telecommunications carriers, primarily for use in wide-area Ethernet networks. The Apresia 2000/3000/4000/13000 series, thanks to its wealth of features including enhanced authentication for use in developing PC quarantine LAN systems, is used as an edge switch for internal LANs at users such as businesses and educational institutions.
Hitachi Cable has concluded these dealer agreements for sale of Apresia switch series with Hitachi Information Systems, Hitachi Information & Communication Engineering, and Hitachi Electronics Services - each of which has a wealth of experience in handling network integration - for the purpose of achieving further growth in Apresia-series sales. Under these agreements, customers will be provided with high-value-added solutions through combination of Apresia switches with the server and PC quarantine LAN systems sold by these three companies.
These partnerships will enable Hitachi Cable to enhance its Apresia-series sales network and to further expand its share of the Ethernet switch market. Apresia-series sales for Fiscal 2009 are projected to total 12 billion yen.
